Growing up in Portland, Oregon I was fascinated with nature, especially marine life on the coast. My current paintings are rooted in the forms and colors of the ocean - particularly plankton and jellyfish. Attending college on the opposite coast, I graduated in 1997 from Connecticut College where I majored in Painting and Printmaking. After leaving Connecticut I lived in New York and in Boston. I currently live in Carrboro, NC with my husband Joe DeAngelo.

My work experiences include apprenticeships with the following:

Sol LeWitt, conceptual artist
Jane Dickson, painter
Heather Hutchison, painter
Rachel Friedberg, painter
Ellen Brooks, photographer
Charlie Ahearn, filmmaker
Edward Tyler Nahem, Fine Art, gallery
Blackburn Printmaking Studio, printmaking
